I was a Highlights kid!

About This Site

Highlights magazine began in 1946 as a labor of love of two lifetime educators, Garry and Caroline Myers. At age 60, they invested their life savings in the magazine and produced the first copy in an office over a car dealership in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Early on the magazine became a staple of doctor and dentist offices, and it grew to be the best-read children's magazine in North America.

Over the years, Highlights has been an important part of growing up for millions. Were you one of those kids who rushed to the mailbox each month to discover the adventures of the Timbertoes®, the Bear Family or Goofus and Gallant®? Did you willingly go to see the dentist in hopes of finding the Hidden Pictures®? Do you still remember a special story that made a difference in your life as a kid? Maybe you got your first byline when Highlights published your drawing or poem.

If you were a Highlights kid, this site is a place to rediscover that childhood joy. We hope you'll share your memories with us while you're here.

If you are looking for other information like how to order current Highlights today - or if you would like to learn about our new magazine for younger kids, Highlights High Five, please visit the Highlights web site.

Today's kids will enjoy interactive Hidden Pictures and hundreds of other games at HighlightsKids.com and parents can find family ideas and activities at HighlightsParents.com.
